Cameroonian Gospel Rapper Dr King Talks On The Disagreement Of The Church And The Music Genre Issues – Dewordz

CHRISTIANS DISAGREE ABOUT MUSIC STYLE AS MUCH AS ANY OTHER ISSUE IN THE BODY OF CHRIST.
Did God give us a musical genre or style that best suits Him?

Cameroonian gospel artist Dr King gives a talk on this topic to Dewordz. Read full story below.

"Music is intricate, yet very simple. It is only to a rigid mind that other genre's of music are not welcomed.

My question to those who frown on other genres of music is, what genres do they have in heaven?.

Music is personal. There are songs or genres that will resonate with a particular individual, but won't with another individual. If classical music is presented to some people, regardless of how much talking will be done to convince them of its Classy and bougie nature, they will never love it, whereas those particular people won't need any convincing point
to respond to local African styles of music.

Music is geographical. There are music genres that is specific to a certain geographical region. Those people will naturally gravitate towards that style of music than any other person, because it resonates with them as a part of their heritage.

Music is generational. In my opinion, this is where the church has lost its footing. For some reason, the church fathers and mothers or older generation expects the millennials to vibe to the genres they loved and held close. It's rather unfortunate that as the generation changes, music also phases out into new genres to accommodate the changing generation. Until we've understood this as the church, we will keep persecuting and fighting each other.

Music should be gaged by its words and not its genre.
There's nothing that exist that was created by the devil. He only perverts things. So if there's a perverted side of R&B, it should be a sign that there's the authentic side. And its applicable to everything."
