Concert pays tribute to the best of the best lady singers

O'LEARY, P.E.I. - On Sunday, the O’Leary United Church presents A Tribute to  Lady Singers of our Century (Anne Murray, Rita MacNeil, Loretta Lynn, Emmy Lou Harris, Patsy Cline and Lynda Rondstad ).   The show begins at 7 p.m. with hosts Judy McGregor and Joan Reeves while Ding and Dong will be joined by Jolee Patkai, Keila Glydon and Coleen MacPhee.  

Patkai, a talented singer, songwriter has released two CD’s “Going Home” in 2012 and “Shore Rhapsody” in 2006.


 Jolee presently preforms with a group called “Treble with Girls”as well as at many fundraising benefits and concerts.  Jolee will be paying tribute to Loretta Lynn and EmmyLou Harris.

Glydon has performed with many different groups over the years singing backup harmony as well as lead with the popular gospel group Glory Land Express, Soul Searchers and presently Dino and the Harmonies and Phase II. 

  Keila has written many songs and they can be found on her latest Gospel CD called, “Here I am Lord.” She will be paying tribute to Patsy Cline and Linda Rondstad

MacPhee, originally from Georgetown, has been singing and playing guitar since she was 12 years old.   Over the years she has entered and won numerous contests and has two recordings to her credit.  She will be paying tribute to Rita MacNeil, one of her favorite female artists. 

 McGregor and Reeves, Ding and Dong  have been singing together for many year producing a beautiful harmony that only they can, and will be adding lots of humor and stories of their time’s working for Island Tel.  They will be paying tribute to Anne Murray, who was once their schoolteacher.

This concert is a fundraiser in support of the church.  The church, located in the heart of O’Leary,  is wheelchair accessible and has plenty of parking.

   Tickets are $12.00 at the door
